Growing Green Education Fair
Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine.

Growing Green Education Fair guest speakers will give half hour presentations starting at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., rotating every half hour:
Pat Guinan, assistant professor Climatology and Atmospheric Science, University of Missouri Cole County Extension, will discuss Missouri's changing climate;
Norman Kilmer, owner of Morgan County Seeds, LLC, will demonstrate how to install drip irrigation;
Patrick Greenwald, University of Missouri Phelps County Extension-East Central Region horticulture specialist, will give a soils overview and
Advanced Phelps County Master Gardeners Ina Bicknell and Charlotte Wiggins will discuss the role of pollinators in gardens.
In addition, a variety of interactive exhibits will offer information from beekeeping to vermi-composting, or composting with worms.
Interested gardeners will also have the opportunity to buy vegetable starts, annual seedlings and perennials to jump start the planting seasons.
Drinking water, courtesy of Pepsi, will be available in the plant sale area.
Master gardeners from around the region attending the education fair will be able to get credit to meet their annual education certification requirements. Attending guest lectures will qualify for advanced education credit; watching exhibit presentations will qualify for education credits.
Fair goers who participate in a survey will be entered in hourly drawings for garden-related gifts.
